NEW San Francisco Relief Grant Program for Small Businesses

I wanted to share some information about new grants that are available to small businesses in San Francisco that have been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

From Mayor London Breed’s press-release:  “The $10.9 million grant program will focus on helping storefront businesses that have received little to no federal or city funding, businesses that have been forced to close for six months or longer due to state and local regulations, long established businesses, and those in high need neighborhoods. [...] This new grant program will provide immediate relief to help stabilize more than 1,400 small businesses by offering grants of between $5,000 and $25,000 based on the number of employees that each employer had prior to the pandemic.” 

There are two types of grant in the program: 

• Small businesses can apply for a Community Anchor Storefront Grant which ‘focuses on businesses that have been most impacted by closures required by the Stay at Home Order, those that have not been able to access other local, state, and federal resources, and those serving low-income, historically disinvested neighborhoods.’

Or 

• Small businesses can apply for a Small Business Storefront Equity Grant ‘is focused on supporting long-running businesses and those that contribute to the culture and vibrancy of San Francisco and its commercial corridors.
