Reader was working just fine
A few days ago it spit out the
Error message for Contactless + Chip Card reader, "Reader Damaged - Use a different reader"
Did all the troubleshooting tips
did the hard reset
made sure to "forget device" in both the app and the BT settings
wiped the app from the i pad
rebootedted the ipad
and re installed
switched to an android phone
installed the app fresh
bought a brand new reader from staples
worked for a couple transactions then boom
did all the same trouble shooting
bought another one
exactly the same thing
3 readers in 3 days ???? WTF??
Love my square setup....
but this is why I have to keep a secondary payment processor on board
Customers don't care
It should just work
The ONLY thing I can see that is common, is that the unit does an update before I can use it.....
Wouldn't be the first time a software or firmware update has bricked a piece of tech
Can't find a way to stop the update to test this theory
Even making this post.... the system gives me an error message WTF???
@Blakkmoon Helen here from the Community team - I'm really sorry that you experienced this with three separate readers. That's not common and definitely shouldn't have happened! I see that you already contacted our CS team and they were able to help you call in, and get another replacement. Can you reply here to let me know if you have any other trouble? We'll investigate.
