I have the same problem like the owner of the post did as well.
I tried to edit the information because we are partnership, not an individual. We typed everything matching our SS-4 form issued by the IRS.
Square had a pop-up red box message stating the following:
"The name and TIN you provided do not match what is on file with the IRS. Please verify the information you are providing matches exactly what is on file with the IRS."
I tried several times with dash and without dash. I contacted the IRS and they spelled the name the same like I have placed in the form.
Then, Square issues the 1099-K form for individuals, not partnership number that we registered with the IRS.
How can we resolve this matter? Please advise. Thank you.
