We introduced the ability to offer a recurring donation option last summer 

 

I can give you a quick rundown here - let's go! 

 

You'll start by heading to your Square Dashboard > Online Checkout

Click the Create checkout link in the top right-hand corner:

 

 

Select Accept a donation from the options in the pop-up:

 

 

On the next page, you'll want to give your donation item a name, and possibly a description.
Most importantly, be sure to click Advanced settings to toggle ON the Accept recurring donations setting.

 

This is also where you can select the frequency of the recurring donation and set a donation goal (optional).

 

 

At the bottom of this window, you can also add custom fields!

 

 

Be sure to hit Create link - now you've got your checkout link! If you want to customize the text shown on your button, locate your created checkout link from the Checkout Link page, and click it. Next, select Customize:

 

 

If you want to add this button to your website, copy the Website button code and head over to your website editor and insert it wherever you want customers to see your donation button 

 

 

Here's an example of my checkout link offering recurring donations:

At this time, the only way to do this is by creating a Recurring Invoice Series. However, customers wont be able to opt in when placing online orders since online won't recognize them as an invoices.

 

I'll pass tag your idea as a feature request so the Product Team gets word of what you're looking for. Keep an eye out for updates!

The answer is YES

 

If I set up the Club Membership as an item, will it be able to get a report of the item sold together with the name of customers who bought it?  Yes, you can assign a customer to any sale.  If you are selling a recurring membership you can do this through recurring invoices.  If the customer saves there payment information then it will auto charge the account each month.

 

Can I get a report of all payments going through the linked bank account for reconciliation purposes? There are many reports you can use to show payment and daily deposits.

 

Also, can multiple users share access to the software? Yes, You can use employee management to give controlled access to the app.

Just wanted to update this thread with our most current options.

 

As @RHatch said, you can create a recurring invoice to function as a subscription. This will autocharge your customer on a schedule of your choosing.

 

OR 

 

We also have subscription payments with Square Checkout links. With Square Online Checkout you can set up one checkout link with the subscription feature enabled. Instead of using Square Invoices for recurring payments, the subscription checkout link can be used to accept weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual payments from multiple customers with a single checkout link. You can also self-select which specific checkout links your customers will be able to pay through. For example, use donation links for accepting monthly payments from donors/supporters.

It appears I need to manually create an invoice to do this?

 

Is there any way a person can purchase a monthly membership from me online & checkout as a recurring payment automatically without me needing to manually set up & send a recurring invoice?

Welcome back to our Seller Community. We don't have a way to create memberships in our Square Online Store. Using  Invoices to charge your customers is a great workaround. You can create Membership Items in your Square Item Library. However, these items won't syn with our Square Online Store. We continue to take feedback on our features and will make sure to post any updates here.

Hello Community!  

 

Anyone  know how to issue site-wide discounts based upon selected memberships?

 

I have the loyalty program for all users, and was  reading other threads which stated the Membership Program is "still under development" I was wondering if anyone has found a work around solution. 

 

Considering  Options:

Email discount codes monthly with monthly email

 

Any thoughts or idea's would be fantastic.  Thank you so much for your time!

Hopefully one of our sellers can chime in and give you an idea of something that works for them. Your email idea is probably the best way to make sure that only your members are getting the discount you want them to have. But I'm curious to see if anyone else has some insight they'd like to share!

I'm looking for similar information. Is there a membership program capability? Is there a way to offer discounts on services purchased for those who are members? Or track credits provisioned to members and allow prepayment with credits?

This is a lot like the feature the guy was looking for with the alcohol permit.  You HAVE to buy food to be allowed to buy alcohol to go.  

You HAVE to buy a membership to be allowed to purchase specialty items.  But you only have to buy one membership, not one with every item.  And you can buy LOTS of items with only one membership, otherwise I could add them as modifiers.  But modifiers don't have a qty.  I don't want this to be a two step process where I send them a link once I get payment for the membership.  It's just too much back and forth.  I'd like to see that if they have the membership in the cart, they can add as many items to it as they'd like from a certain category.

Marshalla from Bubbly Moon Naturals. I would like to know if the payment schedule can be changed say from every month to quarterly? I have a product that lasts long and customers don't need to purchase every month but want to be able to have a consistent understanding of how many to make. Is there a way to change membership frequency from monthly to quarterly? Thank you.

Sorry for the late reply. Yes and no. I notice with recurring invoices there is no place to leave a follow-up review. I want all of my transactions and orders to have that feature. Is this possible?

I want to have my products have a drop down menu for memberships. I noticed one of my customers purchased a membership but was not charged a recurring fee. Is there a way to have this in the membership button? I want to have memberships for my products without me having to go back and send an invoice. Also, what does a membership mean in Square? Is it just a one time payment or is it recurring?

We are trying to setup auto renewing memberships.

Customers choose a membership level.

Each level has a different monthly fee that will be automatically charged to their card each month.

Memberships are for one year and auto renew for the next year unless the customer takes action to cancel the renewal.

Thanks for your post @Fran3, and welcome to Seller Community!

 

At this time it wouldn't be possible to set up subscription-based billing through the online store. You can process recurring payments with Square Invoices, though. One thing you could do is let customers purchase a membership item through your online store, then manually set them up with Square Invoices afterward so they can get billed again the following year.
