Connecting store to Instagram error

Hello, 

 

I am trying to connect my weebly store to Instagram so that we can directly sell on our IG. I am following the steps on the weebly dashboard. Every time I click, "Set Up" it redirects me to Facebook for Magento and then I receive this error:

 

"Connection failed

Warning
Check that you're logged into your store. You can close this window and reopen the plugin from inside your store's admin panel."
 
I can't figure out or find a fix to this anywhere?

Hey! I'm going through the same thing. I think I messed up when I was doing all the syncing on IG, it asked me to sync with either my square page or my weebly page. I think I made a big mistake when I synced it with my square. Now, all the products show but won't let me tag them, and when i try i get an error message saying "The product does not use the domain you selected for instagram shopping".... I think I would't be running into this issue if I clicked weebly to begin with, but I dont think IG offers a way to go back and fix that. I think the only fix is going to my FB page, creating a new catalog and manually creating each item on FB over again, and then the IG page will let me sync to those products. If thats the case this is going to suck. Let me know if this is the same issue you are having, and if so if you figured out how to fix this or not.

You are correct in that you should have linked the Square Online Store to your Instagram account. I would also suggest given Facebook and Instagram a call to ask if there is a possible workaround to fixing this.

I did link everything in Facebook and Instagram to my Square site store but I am having the same issue as the poster you responded to.  When I try to tag items in Instagram Shopping I get the message "This product does not use the domain you selected for Instagram shopping.

I'm facing the same issue and I've spent all the time I can afford. You customer success team told me to talk to Facebook and Facebook of course could not care less.

 

Unfortunately I think this is the final straw after the $0.50 delivery fee, hiding the tip amount below the fold on small screens, and other issues, and I will now have to spend even more time to migrate to a better supported commerce solution.

Still no help on this even when speaking directly with someone from Square. Is there any insight on this issue?

Since you've reached out to a Square advocate and they weren't able to assist with your issue - I would suggest reaching out to Instagram. There could be an connection issue on their end and we are unable to see it.

Instagram now has (Check out on Instagram) where you can sell products directly within the Instagram app. Square is not listed in the Platform Partners, therefore this integration isn't available. 

 

Will Square become a partner soon? I would like for my customers to be able to create a shopping cart and checkout within Instagram rather than selecting only one item on Instagram > click the (Visit Website) button, and then navigate to my Square Online to build a cart and check out. 

 

The less steps it takes to checkout, more customers will shop.

There is an option to link your Online Store with Instagram Shop, if you're interested. 

 

Take a look at this Support Article about integrating those two.

Hi, hope this helps.  Online Dashboard, select Website, Edit Site, scroll down +Add Section, select Instagram Feed, Add button at top, Connect Instagram, then you can select content and customize.
