I am trying to move my domain from CreateAShoppe over to Square/Weebly, but keep running into issues with the transfer. It's telling me "You cannot transfer a domain if the current registrar is Register.com." Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!

Hi, when changing from one hosting to another, you would change the DNS or Nameserver settings. Here is a Square Support set up your domain article.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Terri,
I did as such and assume I need to wait the 24-48 hours to make sure it goes through? Of course, now my email is down, and I'm not finding options for email hosting?

Hi, In my experience, when you change name servers then both .com email and website traffic will go to your new host after a short period.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for the link to the helpful article! I was wondering if you know Square's Nameserver? I'm attempting to transfer my domain from namecheap.

HI, To adjust DNS settings please see steps within the Square Support page. There is no need to do a full transfer, your domain can stay with namecheap.

I found this thread and am attempting to direct a domain from namecheap to a personal plan at Square. Namecheap insists on a nameserver, and Square is only providing an IP address. Has anyone solved this issue? Pasting the IP addresses in at Namecheap does not work. It's a .com address so it shouldn't have an issue.

Thanks that helps. It was what I was looking for but searches didn't turn it up as a high result. I've worked through name cheap and set up A servers, and CNAMe, but for host name with one of the CNAMEs, I used the subdomain 'joevanderbos', Namecheap suggested there was a random sting of letters and numbers that I should see.
In that article, the 'default' nameservers are
Primary: dns1.register.com
Secondary: dns2.register.com
Should I just be using those at namecheap?
Thanks agian.

I transferred my domain from bluehost to Square over 7 days ago and the transfer is still in progress. It says register.com needs to complete the transfer but register.com says Weebly is register.com AND square. Needless to say, I have spun in a giant circle and am so confused and frustrated at this point I don't know what to do.

HI, domains can be frustrating. When a domain is hosted ex.GoDaddy, is like using your cell service with Verizon but then you change to T-Mobile. It's simply access BUT Verizon needs to activate, change, alter, release their release of services to allow T-Mobile to initiate, access, receive for YOUR service.
What a lot of people do not understand is, domains do not need to be fully transferred anywhere. You purchase at ex.GoDaddy, it can stay at GoDaddy. By simply adjusting the DNS settings and waiting a few hours, the domain will work with a different URL.
By doing a full transfer, you are authorizing the company you purchased the domain from to completely move, change, alter to another service provider.
It can take anywhere from 7 to 14 business days.
Hope this helps!
