I would like to save the customer card details through the app but I am unable following the here: https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5770-use-card-on-file-with-the-square-point-of-sale-app
Turning on Card on File through the instructions ("3. Toggle on Charge and Save Cards to Customer Profiles to save your customers’ payment card information from your in-app Customer Directory.") is not possible as this toggle option is not available (see attachment).
Also, I am unable to locate the Add Card option within the customer directory (as per the instructions: "3. Tap Edit Personal Information > scroll to the bottom and tap Add Card.") also see attachment.
Please let me know how.
From the screenshots, it looks like you're in the Settings portion but you'll want to be in the Customers portion of the app, When you go to add a new customer, it'll have the option to save the card on file there in the fields to add a new customer.
It's also easier to do from a desktop/laptop on the Dashboard under the Customers/Directory section.

I noticed the functionality exists in the webapp but I need to be able to gather information from a swipe/insert using the POS dongle.
Please advise what I'm doing wrong as clearly the functionality exists in Square.
The feature to save card details through the app is currently only available in the US market. For the Japanese Square users, the only method to save card details is through the Square Dashboard’s Customer Management. We are working hard to implement many of the features that are available in the US into Japan. Sorry for the inconvenience.
