Square Appointments - allowing certain services on specific days only?

Without adding a staff member (and so upgrading at $50/mo) to split services offered, is there a way to specify services only bookable on specific days?

We need service "A" available M-W / F-Sat and service "B" available only on Thursdays.  I am the only staff and providing both service A and B.

Hi @dbaileyphoto - thanks for taking the time to give context to your situation. I think I am understanding you here, but if my answer seems to miss the mark - please let me know! 😅

 

While service based availability would be considered a feature request, there would be a work-around in this case. You could create an "Employee" and name it after the service you are looking to offer. This "Employee" could be tailored to have availability on specific days, while your normal service could have offered availability on separate times.

Hello @beauty4600! This is a really good question. So we don't have a setting to limit this automatically, but I do have a couple workarounds.

 

You could create multiple staff members and name them "Women AM week 1" and "Men PM week 1". Then you would create personal events for each staff member to limit when the appointments could be booked. 

 

The only downside to this is you'll end up paying $50 dollars a month since you would have to setup 4 staff members in your case. 

 

My other suggestion is to create the services and make sure they're very detailed about who can book and when. Then set your Reservation Guarantee so you have to accept all incoming appointments so you could vet each one. This one requires a bit of manual work and you would have to check it regularly, so you could free up booking time if an appointment was booked incorrectly.

I am a photographer and want to be able to offer specific times on specific days for my clients to book mini sessions.  For example: 

Oct 22 appointments at 9:30, 10, 10:30, 11:00, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30

Oct 23 appointments at 9:30, 10, 10:30, 11:00, 4:00, 4:30, 5:00, 5:30

These are specific times I want my clients to be able to book, and only those times. Is there a way to only open up those dates/times?

@Meganswanson - While we don't currently offer this exact functionality, you could create a Personal Event to block out time to make only these time slots available. I can definitely see how this feature would save a lot of time (and hassle).

I would like to set up specific time slots within my availability so my clients are sure to book back-to-back and not have gaps in between. For example, I'm available from 10am-6:00pm but want to book clients every 1 hour 15 minutes, so I want to make sure that's clear to clients booking so they don't book an appointment say at 11am and not leave enough time for an earlier client, or book a time where it leaves a half hour gap between clients when I prefer to book back-to-back to see as many clients as possible. Does this make sense? Is this possible?

Hi there. 

 

You should be able to accomplish this by setting your service time to 1 hour and 15 minutes, and choosing to have your appointments scheduled according to service duration. 

 

You can edit this information from the Calendar & Booking section of your Appointments Dashboard under Online Scheduling. 

 

You'll want to also set your employee availability to match up with when you'd want your first appointment booked (10:00 am).

Each day, I would like to have the client see what appointment times are available based on the service needed, not just an open schedule. I want to show there is a 15 min appointment available, vs a 1.5 hour appointment available. This the whole idea of using a schedule service, so they do not have to email me to check my availabilty.

Hi @EZPZBaby - You can choose to split your time slots according to service duration. Check out Online Scheduling section from our Support Center for more information on how to do that.

I work for a photographer who does seniors sessions at a high school. Because there are so many seniors, we've broken the days up to morning appointments for females and afternoon appointments for males. (We have several coming at the same time so we don't want girls having to dress in front of guys and vice versa.) Then we swap to males in the morning and females in the afternoon another week.

 

How can I offer specific "services" (one for the female time slots and one for the male time slots) for only those times? It lets me create a service but not limit each service to the time slots allowed.

Can I separate and limit different types of services to specific times of days?  I need to have 1 service from 9am-1pm (only) and another type of service from 2-7pm (only)  Right now it is showing both services available for the entire day.
