Feature Request: Create packages including multiple services via Square Appointments

Feature Request: Create packages including multiple services via Square Appointments

The title of this post has been edited from the original: How to schedule multi packs with Square Appointments?

Hoping to find some help here.  We offer a service that clients can pay for and book appointments online. Great. The problem is that there are discounted packages if multiple treatments are purchased at one time, if this option is chosen, the client is only able to schedule one appointment as opposed to multiple separate appointments for each of the treatments they purchase.  Is there a way to make this work? Thanks in advance.

Re: Create Recurring Invoices in the Square App

Hello @coriumesthetics!

As a workaround you could use recurrning invoices with Square Appointments for a package, and view the number of invoices remaining in the series. However, you can't images to a recurring invoice series, I'm sorry!

Another workaround is to create a single service for package deals you offer but you'd need to track the number of sessions completed manually. You could ask customers to contact you directly for packages, and then schedule each session in the package deal as a separate appointment to ensure clients are charged for each session.

I'm adding your post to this thread where other sellers are interested in using Appointments to create and manage packages. We'll update the status to give you a heads up about any developments on this feature request.

As for your question about marketing by text - you might like to subscribe to this separate thread for updates!

Re: How to schedule multi packs in appointments

Yep! While we don't have a way to automatically apply discounts when customers book more than one service, you can create bundles as individual services. For example if you are a personal trainer, you can list 5 sessions at the discounted price as one appointment.

When your customer comes in for their first appointment, you then can manually book their next, or all upcoming, appointments through your Appointments Dashboard. In your client information section of Dashboard you have the ability to add notes and view past appointments so you can keep track of their remaining appointments even if the schedule one at a time!

Hi @Glowskin - You can read more about what a feature request is and how they work here. That thread also addresses how we can't give timelines for feature requests since priorities are constantly changing.

Welcome to the Community @Ambermontcerin. 🙌

I went ahead and added your post to this thread. Sean has provided a workaround for how to manage a series services. If there's a more streamlined way to do this in future we'll update this thread to let everyone know. (Now you're post has been added to this thread you'll automatically be notified of any updates!)

sean’s “workaround” is exactly why I’m using other software. If I have to keep track of payments and series packages myself I wouldn’t be looking for a software solution.

I am also looking for a “package” option. I switched over from VagaroPro where this came standard and I sell enough of them for this to be a big issue!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this as well @Polishd714

When you get a chance, can you provide details around your business and how this would feature would work for you? It would be a huge help for our Appointments team.

SQUARE! I absolutely love appointments. This is such an amazing service that helps my business grow. That being said, I would absolutely LOVE if I can input information that's crucial about ALLERGIES (like a big red alert) per client and that it wouldn't just get lost in the notes.

I also would love being able to scan or take a picture of their intake form and saving it to their profile... as well as before and after pictures (but that's just me being hopeful)

I also would love to have a way to be able to sell packages. That's hard for me to keep track of but they are so popular in the spa world!

Hello @petuniaspearls

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback with us. I understand why you want a custom text box that's required to fill out. I'll make sure to share this request with the Appointments Team.

Adding pictures to a customer profile would be another feature request for our Customer Directory.

I'm interested in learning more about the spa packages you're looking to sell. Would this be a package deal of items and/or services? Or the ability to purchase multiple sessions?

I'll keep an eye out for your reply. 🙂

Thank you for your response, Chad!

The packages I am referring to are multiple services purchased by one person.

In skin care there are normally treatment plans of 3-6 or more services and they can be sold separately or in packages for a discounted price.

I would love if a client could purchase a package of whatever service and that way I can keep track of their prepaid services easier.

@petuniapearls I see what you mean now!

The packages are 3-6 treatments and each treatment requires it's own appointment. If I'm off please let me know! 🙂

The OP has hit the nail on the head - We sell time, we need the option to sell it in packages/blocks/chunks at a discount for our loyal customers.

I have been considering switching to Square Appointments from Appointment-Plus for a few years now, but this option (discount packages) not being available is one of the only reasons I have not been able to do this.

I own a college tutoring company. Our students schedule their one-on-one appointments with our tutors based on the specific course they need help in (an option that is not currently available - to select a course and have the list of tutors narrowed down to only those who offer that course).

We currently offer our students the ability to purchase discount packages.

  • 5 hours @ 5% off
  • 10 hours @ 10% off
  • 15 hours @ 15% off
  • 25 hours @ 20% off
  • 50 hours @ 25% off

These packages, once purchased by the student while logged into their account in our scheduling system, can be used as the method of payment for their tutoring appointments and can be applied to any tutor, any course, any time in the future. I currently have the packages set up to reflect a dollar amount (which I have to manually change for each package purchased - example: $450 package price must be changed to $500 to reflect the actual value of the package and differentiate it from the discounted price - so the student only pays $450 but can use the package to schedule $500 worth of tutoring).

The packages are actually designed by Appointment-Plus to be used to sell a certain number of sessions for a particular price (which doesn't work for my company since we give our students the option of choosing from 30 mins, 45 mins, 1 hour, 1.5 hours, 2 hours, 2.5 hours, 3 hours, 3.5 hours and 4 hour sessions - but I can see how this would work well in other industries). Therefore, I have had to find a workaround to make the use of these discount packages a possibility for my company.

Since we sell over $100k in discount packages annually, this "manual updating" process is beginning to get rather annoying.

Appointment-Plus has been working well for me and my business for 7 years now, but a change is needed. The costs are too high, and the company is not as diversified as SquareUp. I use Homebase + Square Payroll for shift-scheduling my office staff and employees (my tutors are independent contractors so they aren't included in that) and we also use Square for the sale of drinks, snacks, scantrons, calculators, writing utensils, and graph paper - among other things. I would be very nice to put everything under one roof - as it were - and use Square for our scheduling system as well.

I am happy to go into further detail about how these discount packages work to sell time within our business if someone with Square would like to contact me directly (contact info can be found on my website - just google it lol)

Thanks,
