Appointments: Is it possible for the customer to add "fees" or "add-ons" to an appointment?

Appointments: Is it possible for the customer to add "fees" or "add-ons" to an appointment?

In my case, I'm interested in adding additional services on top of the primary service. These are thought of as either "fees" (percentage based) or "add-ons" (flat price) depending on the request.

Hello @SFP! You could create these add-ons as Services and then add additional services at checkout if you're using the Square Appointments app.

However, there isn't a way to set the price as a percentage of an existing service (I can see how that would be helpful!) but if you set the price of your add-on service to 'Variable' you can calculate the amount outside of Square and add the amount at checkout.

I hope this is what you're looking for but if you have any other questions please let me know!

Anybody know when the "add-on" feature will be integrated into Square Appointments?

This is very important for me. I do video and photography and I need clients to be able to ADD-ON items to their service selection. These additional services cannot be booked by themselves- they are add-on ONLY.

This is the only thing that is keeping me from using the Square Appointments system. Please update!!

@Helen  It would be amazing to see some crossover between the "Appointments" and "Items" sections. Right now they seem independent of each other when in reality sometimes there is a hybrid of services and products at play. It's also confusing that invoice feature uses the "Items" product list but does not have access to the "Appointment Types" list.

Square uses the example of a salon in their appointments intro video. I assume that salons would sell products along with an appointment as an upcharge. This most likely happens in-person, at the suggestion of the stylist, and purchased at the Square PoS. Currently, I don't think there is a way to charge for appointments and items together. This could be a possible solution to the problem.

To reduce the redundancy, and hopefully solve the integration of the two types of purchases, it would be ideal to have a global level "Items & Services" list. The former being either add-ons to services or solely items for sale in a physical location or online. The latter would be managed through the appointments product. Right now these are bifurcated at the level of each Square Product, not at a global company level.

@m3mediapro The way that I am working around this issue is allowing customers to book online for free then sending an invoice/estimate with all costs associated. I imagine in your case you are selling packages (e.g. photo prints or digital copies of video outputs) along with the service of recording, editing, etc. You can just use the Square Appointment product for booking, Charge $0, then send estimates/invoices which are way more customizable. Hope that helps.

This question has been asked already, but I am refreshing it so it doesn't get lost. This should be the next update for Square Appointments!

Need "add-on" feature integration

This is very important for me. I do video and photography and need clients to have an option to ADD-ON items to their service selection. These additional services cannot be purcahsed by themselves- they are add-on ONLY. The workaround does not work because the appointment time needs to be adjusted accordingly.

Cannot use Square Appointments until this is supported. Thank you.
