Adding a Category to Events?

We create dated "event" Items through the online store for our art classes. I find this is the easiest way to do this, rather than creating the event through the back end and then importing to the online store. However, I see nowhere to enter the event into a category, so all the events that are entered default to "Uncategorized". We then have to go and search through our entire inventory to find the uncategorized events and put them in the right category.

Is there a way to specify a category for these events? It would be helpful even if all events were assigned under a default category as we keep our art classes sales and registrations separate from our gift store sales.
