Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

Feature Request: BOGO (Buy one, get one) and other automatic discounts via my Square Online website

The title of this post has been edited from the original:  Can automatic discounts be used on the online store?

When I create automatic discounts, such as quantity or amount discounts, they work perfectly well on my point of sale but do not work on my online store.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you!

Hello there!

I appreciate all your patience while we work to get this feature implemented. The beta testing for this feature has currently been delayed. Our team is working very hard on the backend to resolve some roadblocks that have prevented this from going. If you would still like to join the Beta for this request you can certainly still do so. I know this is incredibly hard but I appreciate you all for hanging in there! 🙏

Re: Buy 1 Get 1 Free Coupon on Square Website

Currently, the Online Store doesn't support Buy-one-get-one coupons. However, you can assign standard discounts to certain categories. From the site editor,  visit Items > Coupons > Add Coupon. You'll find an option to choose eligible categories under Discount Details at the bottom of the page.

Discounts set up in the POS part do not transfer to the online store. The only way to discount prices is to manually change each one or setup a coupon code that the shopper has to apply at checkout. Unfortunately it's not even possible to combine different discount types under one code.

This seems to be one of the most commented on topics yet we haven't seen any progress on the issue. This is critical for online sales. If you cannot program your built-in online store to accommodate us, can you identify an e-commerce partner who does? Seriously, do you know how many times a day business owners ask other business owners for POS recommendations on social media? Up until this issue I've recommended Square. Unless we get a concrete result to this issue soon, you will be really hurting your reviews.

We most certainly need this feature.  Please take this up the ladder

Right?  It's needed

We really need a BOGO option for the website please

Is there a place to vote for this feature?  We really need it.  It's making us look stupid when we advertise our packaging at a certain price and constantly have to give refunds and explain that our website doesn't have the feature to apply the automatic discounts.  Customers think we're trying to rip them off.

@Valentina when are Square going to add features that are readily available in practically every other e-com solution out there? Seems to be a lot of time and effort upgrading POS and releasing branded hardware that ties customers to the Square eco system. Little has moved forward with Online for months.

Auto discounts and promotion is VERY basic stuff. It really does make one question Square Online as a viable solution and whether to endure another 12 months of basic clunky legacy Weebly features.

Can we please have a timescale for this feature. Or how do we get to see the development roadmap for online?

@AshleyK Thank you for your reply.

With many countries/regions/localities in and out of lockdown restrictions, now more than ever small businesses need a fully functional online offering. Your customers pay good money to use square online, often at a comparable price point to say Shopify (which is far more feature rich). When will online get the focus and attention that it requires?

I recommend switching platforms. I couldn’t continue waiting on Square to catch up to every other online platform and needed ways I could easily do things online. Shopify has been a great switch and my sales have since doubled since switching. I’ll never recommend Weebly or Square again.

Oh, and I’m also SAVING money each month.

"I'm sorry you felt [..that way]"? Wow!

This thread's first post is approaching it's first birthday.

Thanks for the Shopify referral
