can I hard wire chip card reader to phone?

It would be nice to have a hard wire option. The connection can be extremely finicky sometimes, and I've had to resort to punching in card numbers on several occasions. It's very frustrating when you have a client right there waiting to give you money. I miss the aux-port of the mag strip reader- it never failed.
