Beware of a new Phishing Scam on Square

Hi All,

One of the tactics of scammers these days is to send you an email suggesting a customer has left you a negative feedback. This phishing email is so good that the template in which it’s sent is just like what Square would use (I mean, at first look). Look deeper and you would find irregularities - especially when you click on the sender (where it says From: Square), and you’d find it’s not actually from Square. Their intention is that you panic and attempt to resolve the issue with the customer by clicking on the link the provided. By doing so, you will be exposing all sensitive information on your Square Account (including that of your customers). Usually, when you click the link (in this case, “respond”), a malware will be installed on your device, copying all sensitive info. I have attached a picture, so you know what it looks like.

Check every email you receive from Square thoroughly - starting by clicking on the sender to confirm if it’s really from Square.

Thank you so much for sharing this @KallysHair! If you haven't already, it'd be great if you could forward it to spoof@squareup.com so that the appropriate team can investigate.
