Any way to power 2nd Gen Square Stand with portable source?

Just received the new Square Stand and disappointed to find out it requires a power source as all times to accept payments. I find this an odd downgrade from the original Stand since obviously it's very convenient to have the stand powered by the iPad.

Also interesting that every piece of promotional material (pictures) of the new Stand don't show it plugged in so that's a bit deceptive.

Anyways I'm not able to plug it into an AC outlet, and even though it is USB C when I plugged it into my external battery it didn't see to work. I assume it needs a beefier power source. Any suggestions?

You can get a powerbank with a 110 outlet or a power inverter like one that is powered by the Ryobi 18v system you can get at HomeDepot which also has a 110v outlet
