Are EGift Cards deposited directly to merchants when purchased or only once they're redeemed?

Curious if any of you have used the e gift card option yet....do we get the money directly when it's purchased or only once it's redeemed?

Just like a gift card loaded in your store you will receive the money for an E-gift card at the time of the transaction that makes it.

How do you redeem an eGift card? I want to show it's been used and has a zero balance.

eGift cards are linked to the customer information.

1. Add Customer to your order. Ask for the recipient's name.
2. When the order is complete, get to the tender screen as usual
3. Look for the "Card On File" option--it may be behind a More option depending on your your system is set up.
4. The eGift Card will be listed here. Hit charge

If the eGift card isn't enough to cover the transaction, you'll get an alert to continue to another payment or cancel.
