Can I turn off having to hit "new order" in order to scan the next order.

After taking an order and processing a payment, we have to hit "new order" before being able to scan our next order.  Is there a way to set it up so that once payment is processed it automatically goes to a new order and we can scan right away?  This would be helpful when checking out a lot of customers in a short period of time.
