I am presently waiting for my replacement contactless/chip reader. My first one will not hold a charge. I want to be able to charge my new square reader in the field when I don't have a power source available. So ... Can I use a battery operated cell phone charger to charge my new square reader if need be?
Yep, that should be fine. Pretty much any device that supports the USB side of the connection could be used as source for charging, like a laptop or portable charger, as you mention. Hope that helps.
