Cost of goods on services is not available

I am an independent skincare specialist and have square for retail to better manage inventory and taxes. I am unable to add a COG on my services so when I pull a report on my COGs, the profit is way out of proportion to my actual profit. Does anyone else have this issue? Is this a feature that is in the works?

Yes - we are in a similar situation - now that we are using services due to moving over to Square Appointments. Seems appointments will only see services - and not items. Previously, we used items for our services. Now, as you mention, not being able to set a cost against a service is throwing our profit margin reports out of whack.

I am able to see both items and services in the Square Appointments app, fortunately. And I think we figured out that as long as I'm entering my products that I use during services into inventory (through generating an purchase order and receiving it in when it arrives with Square for Retail), my cost of goods will be accurate. It seems a bit of a work around for me but at least it can be done. Hope this helps with your situation.

Unfortunately, it is the services that are the issue - not the products. Services do not have the facility to have a cost set against them, sadly.
