I've discovered if your Customer has a "chip card" that does not read on the Square Contactless Chip Card Reader you can dip the card 3 times and it will tell you to swipe the card. This solves the problem when you have a faulty chip card presented to you for payment.

Nice catch, @Ron. Out of curiosity, about how often do you see cards with faulty/worn out chips come by your business? Thanks for sharing this tip! 👍🏻

Hi @Gigis - for US sellers, it is possible to swipe a chip card. Keep in mind that the chip in the card should not be faulty and could be a sign of a counterfeit card and you should proceed with caution.
Please refer to our Support Center article, Best Practices for Accepting Payment Cards, for more details on accepting payment cards.
