Do I charge debit cards the same way as I do with credit cards?

I did alot of Debit transactions.  I need some help.  I put the amount in then I pressed charge then went to other,  pressed on debit and it said thanks.  I thought I took the customers payment.  It showed up but I am not recieving it.  Have I done something wrong and did I not get their payment?  Thanks for your help.

unfortunately, you didn't do that correctly.  assuming you're not inCanada (because that is different), you run credit cards and Debit cards exactly the same.  The way you described entering it was like you recieved cash at the time and the card was never processed. I don't even see debit as an option under other.

I am in Canada and if you press charge under other it says debit.

OK, well, in that case, you have to use tap debit payments on the contactless reader. here is a post about that.  Debit only works thru tap payments up to $100.
