Hi,

 

We quickly built a Square/Weebly Online Store this week so that people could place contactless/curbside orders for our gelato shop. It's working great and I love that the tickets print out when it's time to make the order.

 

We are also implementing a local delivery service where people can preorder with us and we'll deliver it on Friday night. Right now we're doing it by email to take their item order and we respond back with a Square Invoice to capture payment. Has anyone successfully found a way to do local delivery with the Online Store platform?

 

It would be awesome if besides Pickup or Shipping, merchants could toggle on a Local Delivery button and the merchant could set a few options, such as "Delivery on Friday night, 4-7pm," "Delivery on Saturday afternoon, 12-6pm." Maybe with an option to assign a fee, but that's less important during this emergency response.

We are currently testing Batch Processing in our Beta Community, which may help you out. This is another update to allowing pre-orders on your online store.  We'd love for you to join in the test and provide feedback.

Thank you for your response!  If I'm not mistaken though, those settings allow you to set pick-up/delivery times, but they have to be the same times?  You can't set pick-up times for different times than delivery times?  We are just manually doing it for now by giving people lots of instructions (that they don't always read).  So, it only sort of works, unfortunately.

Yes @tinafoundation, as of right now the Pickup & Delivery fulfillment settings are lumped together and cannot be specified. This is the main feature request feedback we received just after launching the Pickup & Delivery feature for Square Online Store. 

 

We're tracking this request in this post, and will likely post an update in the Seller Community when we have one on the development of this feature. Thanks again for posting! 

Thank you!  I think this would be a huge enhancement to the pickup/delivery options.  The pick-up is working really well for us, so thank you!  It's helping keep us safe and limiting in-person transactions which is so critical.  Being able to lump all deliveries into one day, and making that clear to customers so they aren't confused would also really help that side of things.

We will only be delivering on specific days & times, let's say Saturdays 1-3pm, as an example.

 

How do we disable the Estimated Delivery Time setting, since it does not apply to our service?

Although an increasingly popular request, the ability to customize delivery schedules for certain days is not Supported with Square's Online Store

Is there any way to set up that the customer can select a different delivery time instead of the pre-calculated time from prep to how far the customer lives?  Is there a drop down option they can select for a later time delivery?

While there isn't currently a way for your customer to schedule a delivery, we're tracking interest here, so stay subscribed to this thread to be notified when an update is posted, @Din.

 

I've moved your post to a thread where others have also expressed interest in more customizable delivery scheduling options.​ For now, when a customer places a delivery order, they’ll be given the earliest possible date and time based on your hours, prep time, and delivery settings.

Many of us are begging Square to add options to Delivery/Pickup. Square needs to provide the ability to specify delivery dates and provide customers with the ability to select different pickup/delivery locations and dates (offered by the seller).
The current layout that locks pickups/deliveries into the "business hours" format doesn't work for our farm. I can't imagine it working for any business that doesn't have traditional daily business hours. We were forced to go with another service provider because the current pickup/delivery options in the Square system created too much confusion for our customers.
