Feature Request: Re-Evaluate Refunding to Gift Cards

I have seen this come up before, but I wanted to bring it to the attention of Square again in hopes of it being adjusted. 

I love the refunding to gift cards feature, thank you!! As we only offer store credit for returns. 

It has come up a few times where someone purchased something with a gift card, threw it away, and then has wanted to return the item. Please adjust the refund to gift card and allow us to refund to a new gift card. I know there are workarounds here but that's just more to go wrong when making the return & restocking the inventory.

Yes.  Please.  I didn't realize this was a problem until it happened to me the other day.  I had someone pay for a product with a gift card and then later needed to return it.  We could not refund it to a new gift card.  

Another problem is split transaction.  If part of the transaction was paid by gift card and the remaining balance paid by cash/card, we cannot refund the entire amount back to a gift card.  Very frustrating.
