How do you determine the amount of tax that the customer should pay?

Is there a proper way to determine the amount of tax each customer should pay? Do you charge based on the location of your business? What if you work in a few different states, if your coverage area is near a border, does the amount of tax that you are charging need to be adjusted?

Tax can vary by county, depending on your state, so it can definitely get tricky.

I can't advise on which taxes to apply myself, as Square can't give you tax advice. It would be best to consult with a tax advisor or in most cases, your state should have this information online. Maybe others will have some advice to offer here as well!
