Refunding to a credit card but customer didn't receive why?

I refunded to my customer on the card they used to purchase and they said they haven't recieved the refund. Is there a processing time for refunds or are they instant?

depending on the bank and other factors it could take 1-5 days.  in my experience, most happen the same day but occasionally take an extra bit of time.
