In Australia there is no offline mode, so I can't process cards where there is no internet connection.. I have a mobile food van and work in a location with no mobile phone coverage. It seems like the only solution is to use a satellite device, but I need to know the Square specs to see if the satellite network is good enough. I.e. I need to know the minimun transmission speed, the packet size, etc. I have alrady found a thread saying that the data used for each transaction is around 10kb.
Or can I get the offline mode turned on?

I don't think it should be a problem, I have crappy 1.5Mb DSL that most of the time speed tests at half that or less and I run 2-5 Square devices thru it all day long with up to 500 transactions in a day.
Thanks. I got talked out of the Satellite option from the Sat sales rep. If somehting went wrong and I downloaded a bit, it would cost a fortune.
I.e. $5 1 Mb, so 1 Gb is $5000
Also it's not just the speed, it's the latency of the Sat network, which may mean that Square won't work.
