Using Square for Non-Profit Games of Chance?

As a non-profit 401c3, we are looking for ways to fundraise online. We have received our Small Games of Chance License in Pennsylvania but need a way to accept payments online. Does Square allow payment for non-profit businesses to receive payment (by debit) for games of chance/raffles?  Are there any restrictions?

Welcome to the Seller Community, @MelanieM, and thanks for your question!

This would be against our Terms of Service, so you would not be able to use Square to take payments for games of chance.

Super Seller

I'm not 100% sure where in the TOS it links to the prohibited goods and services but here's a run down from Square's articles/FAQ's regarding Prohibited Goods and Services:

https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5089-prohibited-goods-and-services-with-square-point-of-sale

"Betting, including lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, Fantasy Football, off-track betting, and wagers at races"

I wish I had better news or suggestions on how to proceed, however finding any providers that will allow cards to be used on "games of Chance" is going to be difficult given regulations around how games of chance/gambling/fundraising occurs.

Best of luck!

Square, a popular payment processing platform, does support non-profit organizations, and you can use it to accept payments for various purposes, including fundraising activities such as games of chance or raffles. However, for casino gaming like Panda masters login you can use digital wallets and bank accounts for depositing and withdrawing money.

Hi MelanieM,

Here's something interesting concerning your question - according to the info here - you may not be able to use credit cards at all.  Best to consult with a professional - accountant or tax attorney before moving forward with your online plans.
