With spring around the corner, how are you preparing your business location?

Hi all,

Spring is right around the corner! In light of this upcoming season, I want to share with you the 7th episode of Talking Squarely: Talking Squarely About Seasonal Change. A lot of businesses have peak times, which requires a lot of preparation during the year. In this episode, we’ll hear from Suzanna Cameron, owner of Stems in Brooklyn, NY; Kim Moistner-Bartlett, Kona Ice Franchise Owner and Chief Learning Officer; and Beau Coan, Chief Operations Officer of Papa Noel Christmas Trees in Texas.

Seasonality plays an important role in many businesses’ annual plans, as it often helps predict the ebb and flow of sales. But with the current state of the world, certain guaranteed seasonal boosts are less likely to come to fruition. We sit down with three business owners to discuss how they’re preparing for these unexpected changes.

After you listen to the episode, use the reply button below to let us know what you think, share a photo of anything new you're doing this year, or answer one of our discussion questions:

  • How do you prepare for the busy season during the year?
  • How do you maximize peak times to take advantage of those months?
  • How do you stay in contact with your local customers throughout the year?

In addition to sales plans, it would be great to have a discussion around staffing for seasonality changes. How much should employees be making me each shift?

Do you have recommendations to maximize peak times?
