My card reader will not connect, no lights activate when I push the button on back

This my be a sign that you need to charge the battery, @grammyx9

 

Just plug one end of the the accompanying USB cable into your reader and the other end into a USB port, like a cell phone charger or computer. The reader will take approx. two hours to charge completely. This support article has more info on charging your reader.
