Hi, I am wondering if someone can help with a problem I have been having in regards to discounts.
I collect a $50 deposit for appointments made, and once I am cashing out the customer I take the $50 deposit off the total (including applicable taxes) but the discount option in square only comes off the item total (before taxes are applied) I am wondering if there is a way I can change this option or if I should be applying the discount in a different way.
Thank you in advance

Hey @TarotHouse-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
Unfortunately, Square discounts are applied before taxes, and this isn't an adjustable setting.
@MattHebb1995 or @ram_chandra24, do you have any suggestions?

We use invoices and there's an option for taking a deposit that way. That would possibly be a better option for you in dealing with the deposit as a deposit isn't actually a "discount".
