Hello,
If your phone meets the requirements and it is still not pairing. I would recommend you contact Square's tech support as they would be able to work with you to get your Square up and running.
If you've had your Square reader paired with another device, you'll have to go into the bluetooth settings to "forget" it on that device. I had trouble pairing on my phone after having it paired on my ipad and this is what fixed it for me. Hope this helps.
