US company, US employees but I am in the UK!

Hello.  I am based in the UK.  I have a company in the US, with staff.  I want to use Square for this (as the company that I bought did previously) but it asks for my title (Am I an officer...member??  What does this mean?) and my Social Sec no (I don't have one!).  How do I do this?

Hi @kirstyhosk! At this time to create a Square account in the US you need to be located in the US, and you also need to be able to provide all of the required information to create a US Square account - and that includes providing a Social Security Number.

If you have a business partner who lives in the US, in theory they could sign up for Square. That person can add an EIN (Employer Identification Number) to the account too so that come tax time in the US the sales processed through Square are assocaited with your business and not with this individual.

I hope this helps! If you haven't already I also recommend speaking to a tax professional familiar with businesses that operate in two countries.
