AUTOMATIC RECURRING PAYMENTSS

Hello,

We are new to square and need some help to understand whether we can use it for our needs. Any help is appreciated!

Our business is like a childcare where customers sign up for a specific day, and we want to charge on a recurring basis for that day(s).

1. Is there a way to suspend charges when we are closed (for 2 weeks of the year), or if the customer day falls on a public holiday?

2. Is there a way that a customer is able to suspend their charges for a fixed number of weeks per year eg going on holidays. We will give them a certain number of weeks that can suspend the service but want to be able to cap this?

3. Our booking system with recurring reservations is within a US software that does offer integrated payment processing but not outside the US. Is there any way we could integrate Square with the current software so that bookings and direct debit are linked?

Thank you

Hey @ASHA54,

Thanks for reaching out.

You can currently set up recurring credit card payments with Square, however this system doesn't quite do what you're looking to do here. Recurring invoices can be paid on Square via credit card but not direct deposit. You can set a payment to recur every X number of days (or weeks, months) but you can't set it to recur on selected days of the week. A recurring invoice can't be paused, only cancelled.

You could always look at using Square to take payments in a different manner - for example you could take payments in person on a daily basis with a card reader, or you could separately track what a customer owes and send them a new invoice on a weekly or month basis, based on what they have spent in that time period.

Selected booking systems do link with Square - you'd need to check with your booking provider on whether or not they make a Square integration. You can check out some of the different booking systems that link with Square in the meantime!
