More than one merchant on an account

Can more than one person can use the squareup reader. Meaning, I have a friend who is using the reader, and I need to purchase one but don't think it will be delivered in time before I need to use it. So if I use his reader, I think all I need to do after downloading the app is to just sign into the app with my username and password before I would swipe a credit card transaction. Not sure if the squareup reader is specific to the user and therefore tagged bank account.

Neither credit card reader (bluetooth or swiper) is assigned to an account. You can swap them but you obviously won't have access to one if you give it to someone else.

you can share readers as they are "dumb" devices, they are not linked to anything other than the account currently connected to it, once it is unplugged or disconnected from Bluetooth they are ready to be linked to another account.
