@Pennystutoring to clarify, are you looking to sell audio files, or embed audio to listen to within the website somewhere?

Hi Seamus and everyone,
I run the Australian Songwriters Conference, a business providing career and skills development events, activities and services to Australian and New Zealand songwriters and other music creators.
As a sole trader, I do mostly everything myself, with the help of a couple of volunteers. I'm definitely not an IT expert, so I will no doubt be here (a lot!) as I try to create the best online store I can for my customers. I'm doing okay at the moment, though connecting my online store to my website is stumping me a bit. Currently, I have a page set up at my Wordpress site with a page-sized pic linking to my Square Online store. Its a bit clunkier that I'd like. I've paid the small monthly fee to connect my Square Online store to my website but have figured out how to do it yet. I'm hoping to find the answers here as I don't understand the instructions.
Anyway, its good to be here and thanks for having me!
Kind regards,
Lisa Butler

Hey @LisaButler, thanks for posting and welcome to the community ๐
Your business sounds really interesting and helpful to artists especially as events and live music start to return after lockdowns!
When you say you're trying to connect your Square Online store to your Wordpress site, what exactly are you trying to do here? If you're hosting a Wordpress site already, that would essentially be a different website hosted by a different company so there's not exactly a way to merge the two. Might you be referring to the use of a custom domain with Square Online?
Let me know and I'll do my best to shed some more light on this!

Hi Seamus,
Thanks for responding. Yes! I paid to use a custom domain thinking that meant I could connect it directly with my website. I want to use the domain URL for the online Store page at my website ( https://australiansongwritersconference.com/online-store/ ) but it doesn't seem to want to work?
I really don't have much of an understanding about such things and I'm obviously doing something wrong. I was thinking I should perhaps pay someone to sort it out for me. If you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
Kind regards,
Lisa

@LisaButler got you - I think the key issue here is that your web domain can actually only be hosted at one website provider at a time.
So at the moment your domain/web address - www.australiansongwritersconference.com - is hosted at Wordpress. You could transfer that custom domain to Square Online, however it would mean that the website URL would no longer go to your Wordpress website and instead go to the home page of your Square Online Store.
Paying for a Square Online plan gives you the ability to use a custom domain name (so the website URL isn't businessname.square.site), however if that domain name is already associated with a website hosted somewhere else, the domain name can't be used by both web hosts at once.
If you wanted to point or transfer the domain to the Square Online website we have a guide to do this here - but it sounds like this isn't actually something you want to do as the rest of your existing website is hosted at Wordpress already.
You could use another domain that isn't already in use for the Square Online website though if you wanted to, for example "www.australiansongwritersshop.com". But due to the way domains work you'll unfortunately not be able to host two websites hosted by two different providers at the same web address. I hope that makes sense!

Thanks Seamus! I will leave everything the way I have it set up then. Its just one click from the website 'Store' page to my Square store.
I appreciate the explanation as to why I can't do what I wanted to with it. All good. The current set up will do just fine. ๐
Kind regards,
Lisa Butler

Hi Seamus and hello to the square community,
Thank you for starting a community base program within square as I am sure I will benefit from this immensely.
My name is Selena and I own and operate a beauty studio from home and am located in Brisbane. I also have an online shop where I sell mostly Organicspa Products- www.selenasbeautystudio.com.au
When COVID hit last year I spent my locked up time ๐ creating an online shop using the square platform.
Seamus I seem to have a message coming up on my dashboard saying: there seems to be a problem syncing my catalog and to go to Facebook advanced options and update token?? Tried but was unsuccessful Would you be able to help me with this at all please? I do find it quite difficult getting assistance with square when it comes to technical issues so if you are able to point me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it.
Thank you in advance and I look forward to networking with other square customers.
Regards
Welcome to the community @4evergrateful, great to have you here!
This isn't an issue I've seen before, but I did a quick search and found something similar on our US community forum. The suggestion that's been made here is to disconnect the Facebook integration then reconnect it. Is this something you're able to try? Let me know how you go! You should be able to do this from your Square Online Overview page, go to Sales Channels > Facebook Shops.
The best way to get in touch with technical support is via phone - you can call our support team on 1800 760 137. Lines are open Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm Melbourne time.
Facebook issues can be tricky to troubleshoot - often the issue can be on the Facebook end so we don't always insight into what's happening there or what needs to be done on that end to fix things. In any case though, let me know how you initially go by trying to disconnect the reconnect the integration!

Thank you for your reply. I have disconnected my shop and am now unable to connect for some reason. I will give technical support a call for sure. It would be nice to speak to someone about this as it is a little frustrating ๐
Once again thank you!

Hi everyone
This is going to be fun and very time consuming I think. I have much to learn in the e-commerce space. I have just launched an online store retailing alcohol free beer, wine and spirits. Carefully curated with quality in mind. There are about 80 lines available now and it will be growing. I use my Square for markets and face to face sales.
Hey @Bonnienobooze, thanks for joining us here and welcome to the community!
I noted that you stock Sobah, which is my go-to alcohol free beer ๐

Hi everyone,
I have just started an online homewares business called Lotus & Earth Homewares. I am located on the far South Coast of NSW Australia. I have been up and running with square for a month or two, but to date have had no sales. I think my products are priced right. Any tips for getting my business out there? I have advertised in Facebook.
Thanks
Sharon
