Appointments are saved in my timezone, but notifications are sent 3 hours earlier

Hi all! I'm having a problem

where even though my app is set to EST and shows on my end the correct start time for appts, it sends notifications as PST, 3 hours earlier than the appt time. I've checked and changed the setting several times over and yet this issue persists. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

If you or your clients are receiving appointment notifications in the wrong time zone, I would suggest going through the following steps from from your Appointments Dashboard (apologies if you have tried some of them already):

 

  • Check the time zone for the affected client from their Customer Profile
  • Check the time zone settings in the Locations tab of the Account & Settings menu.
  • Check the time and date settings on your mobile device or computer from System Preferences.
  • If you’re using the Appointments app, delete and reinstall it.

 

If you have not been enable to fix the issue after attempting these steps, please get in contact with our Support team directly so that we can investigate this further.

That's no good! Your appointments timezones are dependent on the device timezone settings. You can double check your device settings directly on your device. If your customer's are receiving incorrect notification times, they'll want to double check those device settings as well. 

 

If that doesn't fix the issue, check out this thread to get ahold of our Support team. They can take a closer look for you.

I was wondering the same thing. When confirmation is being sent to client, the time is wrong.  When client clicks on link it is correct. My clients are completely confused 😞

This reply was created from merging an existing thread: When i book thenext appointment the client recieves a text with an hour early of their original appt

 

When I book clients on sqyare they recieve a notification text whih is amazing, howeer here lately when they get the text the time is an hour early then the original appt, unless they click on the link they wont be abole to see the correfct time. So I am havihg to agin respond to another tet or email to let them know to clik onthe lnk for the correct appt tie. How can I fix this? My deices all havee the correct time zone.

I noticed while I was playing around with booking appts, and put my boyfriends name in as customer and he got confirm text and its Pacific standard time. How do I change that?

@Aliboo1118 The first step would be to ask your boyfriend to check the time & date settings on his phone. If his settings are already correct please run through the time zone troubleshooting steps ih this thread, which usually help resolve this issue.

I had a client book an appointment before she got on a plane. She was in another state/time zone. She booked for 12:30 but my appointment time showed 1:30. Therefore she showed up 1 hour early. Is Square aware that this could potentially cause lots of problems? Anyone else have this happen or can tell me how to prevent it?

That is inaccurate. My phone is set to EST . Everything is correct on my phone..my location GPS is on.. except when I go on my phone to the calendar. It knows it' set for the wrong time zone but I can't find anywhere to fix it

Hi @Sherrilynne - What kind of phone do you have? Usually, there are preferences for the calendar in your general phone settings and you can adjust date and time for the calendar there.

My on line booking calendar changes to PDT March 13  what is this I'm PST the calendar is letting double booking (example I have a standing on the 13 @ 4:30 PST the online calendar will let you book, the only way to fix this is limite how far in advance they can book this cost me money,or go through all my standing or recurring and double book it myself I have better things to do. its getting close to March 13 then what are we to do. Please get this fixed you might want to hire new programers, every computer and cell is on auto adjust.

I recently switched to Android and now my Square appointments calendar on my phone (both Google Crome and the regular internet browzer) is shown in EST even though my business and myself are in PST. I've checked every setting I can possibly think of and cannot get this to change. What setting am I missing?

Thank you. I have tried all of these things and it still will not show in anything but EST on my cell phone. Everywhere else is just fine.
