I'm new to square and I just realized that you are not supposed to charge taxes for out of state buyers when buying on line. I issued a refund to the customer for the amount of tax paid. Can we send the customer a note letting them know why they got a refund?

Hey @evowoodworking-
Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.
For information on leaving notes for refunds, please take a look at this best answer, and it's additional notes.
As for taxes, if you are using our auto-tax calculator it should charge taxes or not charge taxes as appropriate within your settings.

I changed it to auto calculate at first I didn't so it charged the Ca tax or a customer in Florida.

Hey @evowoodworking!
I had one of our Online Store specialists take a look. There should be taxes applied to any US shipping orders. I test your site myself and when I entered a CA address, taxes were applied, but not when I entered a Florida address.
Please give us a call so we can take a look at your settings on the backend. So sorry about this!
