How to stop pre-authorizations for amount higher than actual cost?

When charging a customer’s credit card or debit card there is always a pre-authorization made for a percentage higher than what is being charged to the customer. Is there a way to update the settings to only charge the exact amount being charged.

Hmm, not sure I'm following. There are no extra fees that Square charges when a card payment is made. Where are you seeing the extra percentage - In Dashboard Transaction reports?
