Create Recurring Invoices in the Square App

You’re now able to create a recurring invoice series right from the Square Point of Sale app!

 


 

 

Here’s an exciting update from the Invoices team! When creating an invoice using the Square app, you’re able to create a recurring series for that customer.

 

So, let’s say you’re meeting a new client who’s interested in using your pool cleaning services. The walkthrough went great and they agree to start immediately. You can set up monthly (or weekly, quarterly, annual, etc.) billing on the spot right from the Invoices section of the Square app. Set a monthly fee, custom date to send the invoice, and even let your customer save their payment card so the invoice is automatically paid each month!

 

To get started:

 

  1. From the Square app’s navigation menu, tap Invoices > Create Invoice.
  2. Create or add an existing customer from your directory.
  3. Add items to your invoice or a custom amount to be charged.
  4. Under Frequency, select Recurring.
  5. Set frequency and the end date or total number of invoices. For example, You can end the series on a specific date or after a specific number of invoices.
  6. Under Start, select when you’d like to send the first invoice in the series from the preset dates, or set a custom start date.
  7. If you’d like to let your customer opt in for Automatic Payments using Card on File, toggle Allow Automatic Payments on.
  8. Tap Schedule.

When your clients receive the invoice in their email, they can pay your invoice securely online. If their card was already on file, it’s charged automatically. Your funds will be deposited according to your deposit schedule.

 

That’s it! No more chasing clients around or dealing with sending invoices over snail mail every month in order to get paid -- the Square app takes care of it for you!

 

Also, remember you can create and manage recurring invoices from your online Square Dashboard.
