Square Marketing Update - Build Your Email List with Square Loyalty

Square Marketing isn’t done yet! Last week, we shared the newest ways to customize and send your marketing campaigns. This week we’re back to share a new incentive program to help grow the number of  customers you can reach.

Starting today, you can incentivize your customers to provide an email address for your mailing list by offering an extra Loyalty star in return. You customers will enter their email addresses on the Welcome page that is sent to them via text when they first join your loyalty program. To get started:

1. Log into your Square Dashboard and select your loyalty tab.
2. Select “Create” to start your loyalty program or “Edit” to update your existing program.
3. Set the preferences for your loyalty program and click Continue.
4. Toggle on Collect contacts.
5. Complete your loyalty programs settings.

Once your loyalty program is set up, all you’ll need to do is complete a sale and your Square Register will automatically prompt the new Loyalty enrollment screens to appear in your register app. To enroll your customers in your loyalty program and enter their emails for an extra reward:

1. Process a sale the same way you normally would.
2. After the sale has been completed, you’ll reach the Loyalty Screen. Note: The enrollment screen will not appear if the minimum purchase amount is not reached.                                                                                                        
3. Your customer enters their 10-digit phone number to opt-in the your loyalty program.
4. They receive an SMS indicating they’ve earned their first star, and a link to your loyalty program details. 
5. Your customer’s can click the link included and enter their email addresses for an additional star.

Every time a customer enters their email, they will be added to a new group in your Customer Directory and can be emailed using Square Marketing.
