Square Marketing Update - Expanded Reachable Customers List and Pricing Structure

The Square Marketing team is back with an important update for all Marketing and Customer Engagement Pro subscribers.

 

In an effort to increase your business’ reach and engagement with customers, we've changed how we add customers to the lists in your Customer Directory. Subscription pricing has also been updated to help reduce future price changes, and make the subscription more affordable as your customer lists grow. The new price structure will go into effect on 11/1/2016.

Reachable Customers List Changes

 

You asked for it, and we delivered. Sellers using Square Marketing are now able to email any customer who’s visited your business once within the last year, and has opted for a digital receipt via email. Previously this was limited to two visits within 12 months, so the ability to email anyone who has visited you once should definitely expand the reach you have to engage and retain customers! 🙌

 

You can configure your “reachable” definition back to two visits within 12 months, if you prefer:

  1. Log in to your Customer Directory
  2. Click the "Reachable" group in the left navigation
  3. Click Actions > Edit Group
  4. Adjust the Customer Visit settings as you see fit

How Your Price is Determined

 

Square Marketing and Customer Engagement Pro subscriptions are based on the number of reachable customers (the customers you could reach via email) in your Customer Directory.Reachable customers include:

  • Any customers you have imported or added to the directory that have an email address
  • Customers who’ve visited you at least once within the last 12 months, AND
    • Paid with a credit or debit card
    • Elected to receive a digital receipt via email

Square automatically keeps track of your Reachable customers in your Customer Directory. At any time you can visit the Directory to see how many reachable customers you have.

 

If you have a small number of customers, or only need to send an occasional email, you can choose to pay $0.10 for each marketing email you send.

Monthly Subscription Pricing (effective 11/1/2016)

 

Starting November 1, 2016, Square Marketing and Customer Engagement Pro prices have been reduced. The new pricing is based on the following tiers:

  • Up to 500 Reachable Customers - $15
  • 501 - 1000 Reachable Customers - $25
  • 1001 - 2000 Reachable Customers - $35
  • 2001 - 4000 Reachable Customers - $45
  • 4001 - 9,000 Reachable Customers - $75
  • 9,001 - 15,000 Reachable Customers - $125
  • 15,001 - 30,000 Reachable Customers - $200
  • Greater than 30,000 Reachable Customers - Contact Sales

Managing Your Reachable Customers List

 

We put together a few tips to help you better manage the number of people in your Customer Directory:

  1. Fix Duplicates: Visit your Customer Directory, and look for a red alert for indicating duplicates. Click the red Resolve Duplicates button and follow the onscreen instructions.
  2. Adjust Your Reachable Definition: You can choose whether or not to add people who have visited your shop once or twice within the last 12 months. To do so, log into Customer Directory, and click “Reachable” group in the left navigation. Then Action > Edit Group. Don't forget to save your changes!
  3. Review your directory for any old, empty or unused customer records, and delete them.
