New: Interac Refunds on Square Terminal connected to Square Point of Sale (iOS)
While sellers have been able to accept refunds on readers, now it can be done with Square Terminal connected to Square Point of Sale. Note: This is currently only available for iOS. Android is on the way! You can process amount-based refunds using the Square Contactless and Chip Reader or Square Terminal connected to Square Point of Sale.
New: Message Customer in Order Manager
Weโre excited to announce that now you can reach out to a customer regarding their order from your Order Manager page on either your Square dashboard or Square Point of Sale app. This feature is ideal for gaining clarification on your customerโs order as well as any last minute changes, such as out of stock items or substitutions. Square Messages supports both text and email communication, as well as photo support.
Making You Aware of the Change to Eight-Digit BINs
To prepare you for the change to an eight-digit Bank Identification Number (BIN) or Issuer Identification Number (IIN), weโre running through the key information you need to know. The new eight-digit BINs and IINs come into effect on April 22, 2022. Square has performed the necessary updates to our systems to support this change and there is no impact to sellers. Square sellers do not have to do anything to support 8 digit BINs.
Introducing the New Square Stand
Square Stand enables you to easily turn your iPad into a professional & versatile point of sale. The 2nd generation of this POS system features a built-in card reader, so you can simplify the setup on your counter, take secure payments and provide a smoother shopping experience for you, your staff and your customers.
New: Issue refunds to eGift Cards!
You can now easily refund past purchases to digital eGift Cards directly from your point of sale. Refunding to eGift Cards is a great option for your business - theyโre free to use and the perfect way to offer your customers store credit. No additional hardware or physical plastic gift cards are required! When you issue a refund to a digital eGift card, your customer will receive an email with their balance and a gift card redemption number. When they are ready to come back and spend their balance, they can just show you their eGift card to use their credit.
