New: Message Customer in Order Manager

We’re excited to announce that now you can reach out to a customer regarding their order from your Order Manager page on either your Square dashboard or Square Point of Sale app. This feature is ideal for gaining clarification on your customer’s order as well as any last minute changes, such as out of stock items or substitutions. Square Messages supports both text and email communication, as well as photo support.

Making You Aware of the Change to Eight-Digit BINs

To prepare you for the change to an eight-digit Bank Identification Number (BIN) or Issuer Identification Number (IIN), we’re running through the key information you need to know. The new eight-digit BINs and IINs come into effect on April 22, 2022. Square has performed the necessary updates to our systems to support this change and there is no impact to sellers. Square sellers do not have to do anything to support 8 digit BINs.

Introducing the New Square Stand

Square Stand enables you to easily turn your iPad into a professional & versatile point of sale. The 2nd generation of this POS system features a built-in card reader, so you can simplify the setup on your counter, take secure payments and provide a smoother shopping experience for you, your staff and your customers.

New for Appointments: Find Availability Feature

We launched a new “Find Availability” feature, which makes it fast and easy for you to look up your staff and/or resource availability when booking an appointment. This helps you avoid double booking your staff, and ensures your clients get to see their favorite service provider. With Find Availability, you can now view and select available date/time slots directly when creating or editing appointments: The calculated time slots take into account your staff’s availability (including for multi-staff appointments) and resources, to ensure that you're only booking available time.

New: US Sellers Can Now Accept JCB Card Payments on all Hardware with Square

JCB acceptance has been expanded and is now available across the full suite of Square products! There will no longer be transaction limits on any JCB payments in the US. Additionally, you can now accept tap and dip payments with JCB cards in the US. Plus, to keep things simple, card processing fees for JCB payments remain the same as fees for any other card payment made via Square.
