Hi Seller Community,
I’m excited to announce we’ve launched Loyalty Promotions. If you’re using any Square Point of Sale app and are designated as a business, you can subscribe to Square Loyalty and create a digital rewards program to reward customers for their purchases. Sellers now have the option to create a Loyalty Promotion. This helps drive repeat visits and boost sales. Promotions incentivize customers to return to your business for events like happy hours or weekend sales to earn extra rewards.
To create a Loyalty Promotion, you’ll need to have an existing Loyalty program already set up.
- Log in to your online Square Dashboard and click Loyalty.
- Click Loyalty Promotions > New promotion.
- On the Loyalty Promotion Setup page, fill out your promotion information, including the promotion name, date range, and timezone. Note: Promotion names are limited to 50 characters or less.
- Within Promotion details, choose your multiplier type and amount. You can select from a point multiplier (like buyers earning double points on a transaction) or custom points (buyers earning a set point amount on their transaction).
- Click Save.
No action is required from the business or the customer to apply a promotion to a sale. Promotions will automatically apply to qualifying transactions during the checkout process with your customer, and transactions that do not meet your promotion criteria will not be awarded the additional points.
Note: Loyalty Promotions are limited to one transaction per customer per day, and are available to all customers enrolled in your Loyalty program. Any promotions that you create will apply to all business locations across your Square account.
If you use Square Marketing, you can send text message campaigns to your customers about your promotion details. You can send a text message campaign while creating a promotion in your online Square Dashboard, and you can send custom email marketing campaigns from the Marketing tab of your online Square Dashboard. This would only reach Loyalty customers who also have an email on file. Note: Direct campaign reporting isn’t supported.
Customers who receive a campaign message can see additional details about your promotion through their online buyer status page.

This is good, excited to put it to work this month. I'd be curious to hear from others that begin using this promotion feature.
Do your customers respond differently to loyalty promotions than they do to coupons or other types of promotions?
Now this is great news! So we're getting ready to start using Square's Loyalty Program...I'm going to see if I can set up a promotion where it's targeting our newest nail technicians. This way clients get extra points for booking with them or referring someone to them, and we're building their books all at once:)
