I’m excited to announce that we’ve added a new sign up screen to help you collect customer information at checkout! 

 

From the Point of Sale app you can now collect as much (or as little) information you need for your business, and you can incentivize your customers by offering a discount or coupon with Square Marketing.

 

This video has an overview of collecting your customer’s information at checkout and online:


 

 

To enable the Sign-up screen from your iPad:

 

  1. Open the Point of Sale app > tap the three lines in the upper left.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down to Customer Directory > tap Sign-up screen and toggle Collect Customer data after sale on.

 

From the app you can configure the fields you need to collect your customer’s name, phone, email, address, birthday, dates, numbers — and you can create custom fields too.

 

Note: This feature is currently only available to sellers using Square Point of Sale on iPads and will be rolled out to other devices soon. If you’re subscribed to Square Loyalty the customer information collection screen will not be displayed if the purchase is eligible for a point. As an alternative, check out the email collection tools included in the Loyalty program setup process.
