During the recent Square Restaurant Week you all shared how excited you are about using Square for Restaurants mobile POS to take tableside and in-line orders and payments in your restaurant, bar or brewery.

 

Many of you have already started using this new feature on your trusted Square Terminal devices and have been able to turn tables faster, improve your diner’s experience and increase your team’s efficiency. Starting today, you can accomplish all these goals on the brand new Restaurant Mobile POS kit.

How does this help you?

 

We know every restaurant, bar and brewery has different needs. That’s why we wanted you to be able to choose a tableside ordering and payment device that best meets your workflows:

 

  • The Restaurant Mobile POS kit consists of a Samsung Galaxy A32 5G phone, a bespoke case, and Square Reader for contactless and chip. It is a slim, lightweight option designed to fit into any pocket, with a large 6.5’’ screen and ability to send digital receipts.
  • Square Terminal fits in a server apron and is Square’s custom-built, all-in-one payments and POS device, made with durable 5.5’’ Gorilla Glass and a built-in physical receipt printer.

 

Both work seamlessly with other restaurant hardware including Square Register, Square Stand, and Square KDS, so you can customize your setup for exactly what you need. And yes, you can mix and match.

What is the pricing?

 

The Restaurant Mobile POS kit costs $299. 

 

Sellers will need either the free 30-day trial or the paid subscription of Square for Restaurants Plus in order to use Square Restaurants mobile POS. Square for Restaurants Free plan subscribers can not use it.

 

Sellers can use Square for Restaurants mobile POS on unlimited handheld devices for $0 per month until January 15, 2023* as long as they have a Restaurants Plus subscription. After the promotional period ends, sellers will be charged $50 per month per location to use Square for Restaurants mobile POS on unlimited devices - this will be on top of their Square for Restaurants Plus subscription. 

  

*Limited Time Offer: Until 1/15/23, use Square for Restaurants mobile POS software on unlimited handheld devices for $0.  A $50 per month per location fee applies starting on 1/16/23.  Terms and conditions apply. Limited time offer valid through 1/15/2023 11:59pm PST. Eligible sellers will receive $0 per month pricing for using unlimited Square Terminal and Restaurant Mobile POS kit devices within the US during the promotional period, inclusive of all fees and taxes, and will then be automatically migrated to the standard $50 per month upon conclusion of the promotional period, unless the seller elects to opt out of using the product. All sellers will be notified via email prior to the end of the promotional period with the option to opt-out before being migrated to standard pricing. I love the idea of the mobile kit. But as a salon owner I would like to empower my stylists to do the same. This would be a cool way to empower each stylist the build their client community and upselling. Please make this available for salon use as well.
