New: Transfer Account Ownership

Hello Seller Community!


Big news for sellers looking to change account ownership! You can now transfer your Square account to a new owner, or accept a transfer to become the owner of an existing account. 


Before starting an account transfer, make sure that:


  • An Employer Identification Number (EIN) or SSN is on file at all locations attached to the Square account.
  • The existing owner of the account can log into the account, verify their identity, and is willing to transfer ownership.
