With provisional activation, sellers new to Square can start accepting payments right away, and complete account activation at a later time.
When you create a new Square account and connect it to your eCommerce site, you’re able to accept payments online for 7 days from the date of your first payment, or up to $2,000 — whichever occurs first. During this time, funds from payments will remain in your Square balance until you complete activation and link a supported bank account or sign up for a Square Card for deposits.
