I’m delighted to announce that physical Square gift cards are now available in the UK! You can order plastic gift cards from our partner Plastic Card Services. Design your own gift card using your artwork (Custom Card), choose from themes of four card designs in a batch (Starter Pack), or choose a template and add your business name and logo (Quick Card).
You can sell Square gift cards from the Point of Sale app, Square Terminal, and Square Stand.
To accept a gift card: swipe the card at checkout if you have a Terminal or Stand, or manually enter the gift card number to the Point of Sale app. Your customers can also redeem Square gift cards from your Square Online site or they can use a Square gift card to pay an Invoice.
With Square gift cards you’ll have the ability to:
- Customise your gift cards to suit your business brand.
- View gift card reports from your online Square Dashboard.
- Reuse Square gift cards: When the balance has been cleared you can reload a Square gift card or use it again for another customer.
How to Order Square Gift Cards
- Sign in to your online Square Dashboard.
- Click Gift Cards> Plastic Gift Cards > Order Gift Cards > you’ll be directed to Plastic Card Services website for Square sellers.
- Select from Starter Pack, Quick Card or Custom Card and follow the prompts to design your card and complete your order.
Your Square gift cards will be shipped by Plastic Card Services and will arrive in 5-7 working days.
Gift Card Pricing
When you sell a gift card Square’s payment processing fees will apply. When your customer redeems their card at your business no processing fees are applied. There are no additional recurring fees to use Square gift cards. Learn more about pricing for Square gift cards in our Support Centre.
Note: When you sell a gift card through Square, the funds from the sale will be included in your next transfer. When a customer redeems a gift card, you will not receive the payment in a transfer since you have already received these funds at the time of the original gift card sale.
