Hello everyone! We’re back with more updates to Square Online. Check them out below.

 

Separate self-serve ordering and delivery fulfillment settings

Self-serve ordering (contactless ordering via QR code) and delivery have been decoupled so you can now assign different item availability to each. Previously they were a shared fulfillment type.

 

If you offer both delivery and self-serve ordering, each can now have its own menu. Head to your item library to update fulfillment methods for your items. You’ll now see four options: shipping, pickup, delivery, and self-serve ordering.

 

From the main items list you can set fulfillment methods in bulk. Simply select the check mark to the left of each item (or mark the box at the top of the column to select all items on your page at once). Then choose Bulk edit on the upper right. Select Set fulfillment from the list of options.

Delivery coupons

Create and share coupon codes for free delivery. You can offer free delivery on all orders, orders over a certain amount, or just assigned to specific items or categories. You also have the ability to limit coupon use to 1 per customer if you wish. Head on over to your Square Online settings to create a coupon for free delivery.



Delivery scheduling updates

If you offer delivery services using your own couriers, your customers can now schedule order deliveries from the online ordering page or from their cart. To enable delivery scheduling, select Edit location from your pickup & delivery settings, and then edit your Order timing settings in the slide-out menu on the right. Review your delivery timing windows in the Hours section of the same slide-out menu to ensure they’re correct.



Cross-sell items from your online ordering page

Showcase items frequently purchased together to improve the customer experience and increase average order value. Top items are dynamically displayed when a customer views an item’s details.

 

To enable cross-selling:

  1. Head to the site editor and open the Order Online page
  2. Select Item list > Details lightbox
  3. Check the box to enable cross-selling
  4. Click Done and re-publish your site



Online ordering layout improvements

The online ordering page has been updated to provide a smoother, easier experience when placing orders from a mobile device. With a cleaner look and faster loading, it feels more like running a native app rather than a web browser window. Larger item images, multi-image support on item screens, and a dynamic floating action area at the bottom enrich and simplify the mobile ordering experience.



Facebook Shops update

Setup of a single online shop for both Facebook and Instagram has been simplified. Connect your Facebook account, add a pixel, enable your shop, and create ads, all in one place.  Navigate to Website > Facebook Shops from your Square Online dashboard to manage your shop and to create and manage ads for both Facebook and Instagram.
